I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology. I was born and raised in Detroit, MI. I completed undergrad with a BS at Marygrove College in Detroit and I completed graduate school with a MS in counseling psychology at Avila University in Kansas City, MO where I lived and worked for 4 years.

 

I have struggled with symptoms of anxiety and depression in the past and I can relate to those experiencing similar symptoms. When you are in the midst of said symptoms, it can be hard to assess what you need to help yourself during those times. That's what makes therapy so important and necessary just like any physical health services, mental health should be a priority as well. Therapy helps you to manage symptoms better, see life through a different lens, identify healthy ways to approach life challenges, and create a plan to help you achieve your goals.

 

My passion is working with adolescents and adults to combat symptoms of anxiety and depression related to life challenges, trauma, and unhealthy behavior patterns. I also help couples and families navigate challenges within their dynamics and equip them with healthier choices and practices. The idea is to help those who are ready and willing to try to strive for a healthier version of themselves. I have also facilitated group psychoeducation sessions for adolescents to teach life skills not taught in traditional schools. I am an ally to the LGBTQ+ community.

 

I hope to help individuals gain insight and clarity and use it to create personal growth and change. Therapeutic approaches:  CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), EFT (emotion focused therapy), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), Mindfulness, Psycho-Education, Non-Judgement, and Rapport to help get you closer to becoming your best self.
